Hillary Launches New Ads In KY & OR

The Clinton Campaign launched new ads in Kentucky and Oregon today, emphasizing that she will not quit until all Americans have had their voices heard in this Democratic presidential nominating process.

The following Oregon ad, "What's Right", airing across the state details Hillary's commitment to end the No Child Left Behind Act and provide quality, affordable health care for every American. And it emphasizes Hillary's opposition to the Bush Administration energy bill, which removed local control over the siting of liquefied natural gas terminals on Oregon's coast.

While the pundits in Washington focus on who's up and who's down, Hillary Clinton will focus on what's right for Oregon families.

In two new ads airing in Kentucky, Hillary vows to take on the special interests and be a partner for working families in two new ads airing in Kentucky today.

With families living paycheck to paycheck, Hillary vows to stand up for the middle class and provide solutions to our toughest challenges in the 30-second spot, entitled "Partner."

In the second 30-second spot, entitled "Right Track," Hillary promises to close corporate tax loopholes and put America back on the right track.

"On condition of anonymity, one Washington lobbyist I spoke with was willing to point out the obvious: that big donors would not be helping out Obama if they didn't see him as a "player."

The lobbyist added: "What's the dollar value of a starry-eyed idealist?"

That's really a moral "will of the voters" argument right?

and PS (2.00 / 3)

that EV vote count has barely budged in months.
IN the last few days Clinton has picked up Arkansas and WV.  Along with OH and FL, and other swing states that Obama has never been ahead in she is in really good shape to beat McCain in november.
Remember all of her baggage is old news and much of Obama's has not even come out yet.

Re: I'm sorry are you basing this on... (none / 0)

Is this snark? The linked post is about PA turnout, poblano was wildly wrong about PA turnout. He predicted 1.6 million voters but 2.3 million showed up, he was off 28%. Now granted, in this post the day before the primary he starts wildly tweaking his models a la Zogby, but he was still off by 10%.

And BTW, can you give me a link to where he "shows the methodology" of his electoral vote projections at the top right of the page? The numbers there don't match his summary along the left and right sides of the site.

Teresa, you have too much hope (none / 0)

HOPE is for Obama's supporters, not Clinton's.  Recent events indicate to me that the nomination is a done deal regardless of the potential GE problems exposed since March. The fact that supers aren't moving in larger numbers probably reflects that the party leaders fear alienating Clinton supporters too much with such heavy handed displays of a fix.

Win or lose, the majority of the party leadership and at least half the party are intent on championing a standard bearer and fellow travelers who personify some of the most disliked stereotypes of the Democratic party.  All the rest of us can do is say "Enjoy yourself boys and girls but me thinks your ship is the Titanic and I think I might skip this voyage."

Re: As someone in KY, (none / 0)

You're right, she is going to kick Obama's ass in KY no matter how hard John Edwards tries to win them over.

As for Oregon, clearly it is OBAMA's ads that arent' working, because he has dropped 15% in support since LAST WEEK.

Iraq Doesn't Matter? (none / 0)

Does that first ad imply that Iraq doesn't matter?

"She's been right when it matters.  She'll be there when it counts."

If we apply this to Iraq, doesn't it mean that Iraq doesn't matter?  Unless, of course, we're planning to argue that she was "right"?

Anyway, I DO like her ads.  The music in the background usually works well with the message, which I like.

Re: Hillary Launches New Ads In KY & OR (none / 0)

Good for her.  Nobody can say that she gave up.

I'm just not sure why she would spend all this money at this stage of the game given her financial situation and given the odds against her.  Is throwing good money after bad going to be her policy in the White House?  Because the "just throw money at it" approach to government generally has poor results.
